This is the second of 3 'pieces' that make up a larger image. Its for a self-promotional project which had to sort of represent myself as a designer/brand/whatever. I decided to depict my workflow and so on. This is the second stage which deals with the digital processing side. Through additions and editing to make a final piece. I chose a digitally painted style to convey these additions to be like brush strokes. Each item is an element (either used or unused, mostly from concepts) from past projects.
Yeah Open Canvas is one of those traditional-media type programs, like Corel Painter. Although you could in theory get something similar out of Photoshop with plenty of blur/smudge I guess. Haven't tried Corel Painter yet (which is the most famous out of such software) but I imagine it will take some learning (since its an industry/pro type software like Photoshop). Open Canvas is quite fun to use, maybe a little limited in places (although newer versions may of fixed such stuff as inability to rotate etc.) but easy to just open up and get stuck in. I dont know if Painter has this too but Open Canvas also has Event files which records you drawing/painting and allows you to play it all back from start to finish. I've found some event files and its pretty cool to see their whole process.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
